New Spice Jars!

I know this isn't a recipe, but it is cooking/food related.  Plus I was just so excited about these that I just had to post them.  When I first moved into my apartment, I got a pre-made spice rack that took up a ton of space.  Then, for the past year or so now, I have housed my spices in one of my kitchen drawers.  It bothered me that all of the jars were different sizes.  Maybe I'm just slightly crazy, but I like uniformity, so I've been looking around for jars that I liked for a while now.

When we were in California on our honeymoon, Joel found these Weck canning jars at a store in the Ferry Building in San Francisco.  We liked the idea of using these jars for a few reasons.  One is that they are air tight.  The other reason is because they are something we found on our travels.  I thought it would be nice to be able to look at my spice rack and be reminded of our honeymoon.  I bought one "080 Mini Mold" jar and decided to look around online for them when we got home.  I ended up ordering 2 cases (24 jars) from the Weck Canning website.  Their customer service was amazing.  I called to order and got an actual human after 2 rings.  She was very polite and friendly, and she even called me back a little later to tell me that they were able to ship them out that day!  I ordered these on Wednesday at about 3 in the afternoon.  I got them today, Friday, at about 11 in the morning.

I couldn't wait to open them, wash them, and fill them with my spices.  I used a silver sharpie marker to write the name of the spice on the jar.  I planned to put them in my drawer, which makes things so much more organized.  But, now I am having a problem.  They are so nice looking (in my opinion) that I feel like hiding them in a drawer is wasting their visual appeal!  I can't wait to have a kitchen with wall space so that we can build a shelf for these jars!!
