BBQ Chicken Burgers

This has been a wonderful week, weather wise.  It's been in the upper-70's all week, which is perfect for grilling and eating out on the patio!  Since this weekend is supposed to be a complete wash-out, we figured that we'd fire up the grill on Thursday so we didn't have to stand out in the pouring rain.  I was going to make store bought turkey burgers, but I came across this recipe from How Sweet It Is and decided to change my mind.  They were exactly what I was craving on this (finally) warm spring night!

1 pound Ground Chicken
1/4 cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese
1 teaspoon Smoked Paprika
1/2 teaspoon Onion Powder
1/4 teaspoon Garlic Powder
1/4 teaspoon Black Pepper
1/4 teaspoon Salt
1/4 cup BBQ Sauce
*1/4 cup Bread Crumbs (I added this because my mixture was too wet)

In a large bowl, combine all of the ingredients.  Mix until just combined, then form into 4 patties.  Grill the patties until fully cooked (we grilled them on foil so that they didn't break apart and fall through the grates.  Serve on a roll and top with grilled onions, BBQ sauce, and cheddar cheese, if desired.
