Baked BBQ Sweet Potato Fries

Normally, I like my sweet potato fries with honey and butter.  But, feeling a bit adventurous, I decided to change it up.  I found this recipe on Sarah's Cucina Bella and thought it was worth a shot.  The aroma in the house as these fries cooked up was spectacular, and the flavor was great too!  I successfully halved the recipe, as there are only 2 of us, and we are not fans of re-heated fries, but the original recipe is posted below.

2 pounds Sweet Potatoes, peeled and cut into 1/4 inch slices
1/4 cup Olive Oil
1 teaspoon Dark Brown Sugar
1/2 teaspoon Kosher Salt
1/4 teaspoon Cumin
1/4 teaspoon Black Pepper
1/4 teaspoon Sweet Hungarian Paprika
1/4 teaspoon Garlic Powder

In a large bowl, add the sweet potatoes and olive oil and stir to combine.  In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar, salt, cumin, pepper, paprika, and garlic powder.  Pour the spice mixture onto the potatoes and stir well to combine.  I used my hands to make sure that each fry was coated with the spices.  Pour the fries onto a baking sheet that has been lined in foil.  Bake at 400 degrees for 35-40 minutes, or until lightly browned--stirring and flipping the fries every 15 minutes.
